11. While Draco was still at school his father figure was no other than Severus Snape. He went to the Potions professor whenever he had problems because he knew he’d be there to listen. One day Draco came into his office looking forlorn and sensing something wrong, he asked what the problem was. Draco asked: “Have you ever loved someone, but were afraid to tell her because of what other people might think?.” Snape pursed his lips, and a million memories came back to him. “Draco, I suggest you tell whoever it is. If not you will regret it. I promise you that much. I do. Everyday.” Draco didn’t understand how his professor could relate and instead left. When Ron and Hermione got together, Snape loathed it. He confronted Draco on why he didn’t tell her to which Draco simply replied “Professor, I was going to, I really was. But when you saw the girl, the one YOU loved, with someone else, wasn’t she happy? Granger’s happy now. I can’t stand to ruin that or she’d hate me even more, so now I’m fine just knowing she’s happy, even if it’s killing me inside because it’s not me.” When Draco left, Snape started to cry. He knew exactly how Draco felt.
